After discovering he is human, an oversized elf named Buddy sets off from the North Pole past the seven levels of the candy cane forest, through the sea of swirly-twirly gum drops, and the Lincoln Tunnel to New York City in search of his biological father.

Buddy’s innocence, goodness, and exuberance for Christmas is a lot to take in for the cynical business executive he calls Dad. Will Buddy’s Christmas spirit be enough of a help for them to form a relationship, or will it drive them apart, sending Buddy back to the North Pole?
