The Cass County COA is proud to partner with the AARP Foundation to provide in-person and virtual tax assistance to anyone free of charge with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50. Tax-Aide volunteers are located nationwide, and are trained and IRS-certified every year.

This tax season, our local Tax Team of Volunteers served over 2,000 hours preparing 285 individual tax returns for our community.

Past tax seasons, the COA’s Tax Team has been able to prepare nearly 600 returns; however, this season came with its own set of challenges beginning with the IRS delaying the date they would begin accepting returns along with social distancing restrictions and extending the due date. Our Tax Team of Volunteers bravely took on this new challenge and made every best effort to serve as many community members as possible during this unprecedented tax season.
