A tremendous amount of time and energy has been devoted to re-imagining the day when we could reopen our Fitness Centers again for you.  Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our participants and staff, and so every step we’ve taken has been with this singular goal in mind.

In addition, we will be adhering to the guidelines set by the CDC, the State of Michigan, and the Van Buren/Cass District Health Department.

Additional safety regulations have been put into place and will be requirements for all who enter the fitness center.

  • Health screening upon entering building – questionnaire and temperature check
  • All participants must sign a COVID-19 waiver and have an updated COA registration completed with required fields:  Full Name, Birthdate, Address, Phone Number and Emergency Contact
  • Masks must be worn at all times in the fitness center as well as throughout both COA facilities
  • Every participant will be supplied with a clean bottle of equipment spray sanitizer and is asked to fully sanitize the equipment before and after each use for their safety
  • Additional sanitizing will be done by staff between fitness appointments
  • Please be sure to bring your own water bottle

Due to strict enforcement of capacity limits in our fitness centers:

  • All work-out appointments will be made on the hour beginning at 7:00 a.m.
  • Work-out appointments are limited to 45 minutes
  • Participants can call up to 24 hours in advance to set their appointments

Call (269) 445-8110 to schedule your Fitness Center appointment at either COA location

We fully understand that wearing a mask while exercising is a big change, however, in order for us to safely open, this is a requirement that we will be strictly enforcing.

Of course, these guidelines are fluid, and will change over time and we will do our best to communicate them.  Every step of the way, the COA has and will continue to make decisions based on recommendations provided by local, state and federal health experts in determining the safest way to proceed with programs and services for our local seniors.
